Editorial and update policy

How we write, update and correct what we publish.

Last updated 2026-11-08.

Accuracy first

A wrong fee costs a seller real money, so accuracy matters more than speed. We publish a number only when we have read it on the platform’s own page. Each calculator page shows its source links and the date the data was last verified.

How pages are written

Each calculator page explains in plain language what the platform charges, which amounts a fee is calculated on, and the quirks that catch sellers out. Worked examples use real numbers and are generated from the same data as the calculator. We write each page for that platform specifically and do not reuse the same text across pages.

Updates

We re-check fee pages at least monthly. When a fee changes we update the data, the “verified on” date and the change log on the affected page. Pages that have not changed are still re-verified, so the date shows when we last looked, not only when something changed.

Corrections

If you think a number is wrong, tell us and include a link to the platform’s page. We check the official source. If you are right we fix it promptly and record the correction in the page’s change log. If we find the platform’s own pages are unclear, we say so on the page.

Independence and advertising

SellSmartDesk is not affiliated with any platform it covers. We do not accept payment from platforms to change a number, a comparison or a recommendation. The site is supported by advertising, and advertisers have no say in what we write. If we ever add affiliate links, we will label them clearly.

What we do not do
