Poshmark fees for US sellers

Poshmark uses one of two fees depending on the sale price. The line sits at $15, and where your item falls decides how much you keep.

How Poshmark fees work in practice

Poshmark’s fee is simple on paper. It is free to list, and when an item sells Poshmark deducts its fee from the final order price. Under $15 that is a flat $2.95. From $15 up it is 20%, and you keep the other 80%.

The flat fee is why cheap items hurt. On a $12.00 item the fee is $2.95, which is25% of the price, more than the 20% charged on bigger items. You keep$9.05 before your own costs. If you sell a lot of low-priced pieces, check that the profit after your item cost is still worth the time it takes to list and ship.

The $15 line also creates a pricing quirk. At $14.99 you keep $12.04. At $15.00you keep $12.00. Pricing just under the line can leave you with a few cents more, though buyers may also respond differently to the two prices, so treat it as a detail rather than a rule.

Shipping works differently from most marketplaces. Poshmark’s shipping page says the buyer pays a flat fee, currently$6.49, on every order, shipped by USPS Ground Advantage. Because of that the calculator has no shipping boxes. The one shipping cost it does mention is for bundles: if a bundle weighs more than 5 lbs, Poshmark says overweight shipping costs are the seller’s. Enter anything like that under extra costs.

Sellers in Texas have one more deduction. Since October 1, 2025, Poshmark applies the Texas Seller Fee Tax. It is charged on 80% of Poshmark’s fee, at the 6.25% state rate plus your local rate, and is taken from your earnings. On an $80.00 sale with a 2% local rate that is $1.06 on top of the $16.00 fee. Tick the Texas box and enter your local rate to include it.

Finally, discounts matter. Poshmark says actual earnings depend on the final order price, any seller discounts, the fees paid and applicable taxes. If you give a buyer a discount through an offer, use the final price in the calculator.

Three worked examples

1. A $12 top (under the line)

The price is under $15, so the fee is the flat $2.95. You keep $9.05, before item cost. That is a 25% fee, higher than the 20% charged on larger sales.

2. $14.99 versus $15

At $14.99 the fee is $2.95 and you keep $12.04. At $15.00 the fee is 20%, or $3.00, and you keep $12.00. Crossing the threshold costs you a few cents.

3. An $80 bag from a Texas seller

The fee is 20% of $80.00, or $16.00. The Texas tax is 8.25% (6.25% state plus 2% local) on 80% of that fee, or $1.06. You keep $62.94, before item cost.

Questions sellers ask

How much does Poshmark take from a sale in the US?

For sales under $15, Poshmark takes a flat $2.95. For sales of $15 or more, it takes 20% and you keep 80%. Listing is free.

Why do I keep less on a $15 item than on a $14.99 item?

Because the fee jumps at the threshold. At $14.99 the flat fee is $2.95, so you keep $12.04. At $15.00 the fee is 20%, or $3.00, so you keep $12.00. It is a small difference, but it means pricing at $14.99 can beat $15.

Who pays for shipping on Poshmark?

According to Poshmark’s shipping page, the buyer pays a flat shipping fee on every order, currently $6.49 via USPS Ground Advantage. For bundles, the seller is responsible for overweight shipping costs when the package goes over 5 lbs.

What is the Texas Seller Fee Tax?

Since October 1, 2025, Poshmark applies an extra tax on its seller fee for sellers with a Texas return address. The tax is charged on 80% of the seller fee at the Texas state rate of 6.25% plus local sales tax, and is deducted from your earnings. It is separate from the sales tax collected from buyers.

Do discounts change what I earn?

Yes. Poshmark says actual earnings depend on the final order price, seller discounts, fees and any applicable taxes. If you offer a discount, enter the discounted price in the calculator.

Does Poshmark charge monthly or listing fees?

Poshmark’s Fee Policy says it is always free to list an item. Its help center also has a separate article on recurring fees, so check it for the latest answer.
